A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 12, T16N, R11E and in sec. 7, T16N, R12E, MDM, 2.2 km (1.4 miles) NE of Blue Canyon (town), E of Blue Canyon (valley) and W of the Southern Pacific Railroad (2 miles SW of Emigrant Gap), on private land within a National Forest area. The property comprises 41 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes NE and dips SE. The vein is 2½ feet thick and carries sulfides. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada) and/or Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
Workings include surface and underground openings with a length of 176.78 meters and an overall depth of 30.48 meters and comprised of a tunnel (adit ??) stoped to surface.
