A former placer Au occurrence/mine located in the S½SE¼ sec. 28, and in the N½NE¼ sec. 33, T15N, R13E, MDM, 4.7 km (2.9 miles) S of Duncan Peak (coordinates of record), on the W wall of Duncan Canyon (E slope of Mosquito Ridge), W of Grey Eagle Canyon (2 miles SSW of Little Bald Mountain), on private land within a National Forest area. The property is comprised of 62 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
NOTE: USGS MRDS database file #10164125 states that this is a placer occurrence while file #10034870 states that it is a vein deposit and lists both quartz and gold as occurring here.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
