A reported Au occurrence(s) located in secs. 33 & 34, T13N, R9E, MDM, 1.3 km (0.8 mile) SSE of Grizzly Bear House, along the N side of the Middle Fork American River between Hoosier Bar and Buckeye Bar. Owned by Shock (possibly A. C. Shock - see Lakeview Mine, sec. 32, this township) (1935). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Apparently placer locations on river gravels.
Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided and/or Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
