A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 18, T16N, R11E, MDM, 1.9 km (1.2 miles) NE of Snow Mountain (coordinates of record), N of the North Fork American River (above the Royal Gorge) (2 miles S of Devils Peak), on private land within a National Forest area. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 5 (Northern Sierra Nevada and Eastern Klamath Mountains).
