A former lode Au-Zn-Pb-As occurrence/mine located in secs. 17, 18 & 20, T17N, R9E, MDM, about 2.8 km SE of Nevada City proper, E of Gold Flat. The property comprises 120 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is the Glencoe-Orleans vein in a fissure zone, hosted in slate. The ore body is comprised of stringers at a thickness of 5.49 meters. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
