A former placer Au occurrence/mine located in the N½ (probable) sec. 5, T15N, R10E, MDM, 0.5 km (0.3 mile) NE of Little York (site) and 2.4 km (1.5 miles) E of You Bet. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground opening and included surface dredging operations with a No. 5 Northwest dragline dredge and floating wash plant.
The company started work on April 6, 1940. The gravel averaged about 12 feet in depth and is loose and easy to dig. The dragline handled about 2,500 cubic yards in the usual 20 to 22 hour run. Ten men were employed in 1940.
