A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the W½NE¼ sec. 13, T16N, R8E, MDM, about 1.2 km SSW of Nevada City proper (within the city). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in granodiorite. The ore body strikes W and dips 36E at a thickness of 0.41 meter. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 182.88 meters and an overall depth of 121.92 meters and comprised of 2 shafts and a drift.
