A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 18, T16N, R9E, and in sec. 13, T16N, R8E, MDM, about 1.8 km SSW of Nevada City proper, N of Gold Flat along highways 20/49, on private (patented) land. The property comprises 4.80 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Part of the Mountaineer Consolidated.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granodiorite and slate. The ore body strikes N70W and dips 70-80S. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include underground openings comprised of 2 shafts and an adit.
