A Cr occurrence/prospect located on N edge NE¼ (probable) sec. 24, T17N, R10E, MDM, 1.3 km (0.8 mile) WSW of Alpha, along the W ridge line of Washington Creek Canyon, on National Forest land. Owned by Karl Olsen. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
Olsen reported that about 10 long tons of ore had been mined by him in 1917. Inspection in 1918 indicated that 10 tons of ore containing about 40% Cr2O3 was still on the ground after the property was abandoned in September, 1918. It may be that no ore was shipped.
