A Cr occurrence/prospect located in the SE¼ sec. 16, T16N, R8E, MDM, 1.8 km (1.1 miles) ESE of Newtown, along the W canyon wall of Deer Creek. Owned and operated by the Mulcahy Brothers. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic gabbroic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
About 20 tons of ore containing 35 to 40% Cr2O3 and about 100 tons of ore containing 8 to 10% Cr2O3 were reported to be in sight at the prospect in 1918. No shipments of ore from this property have been recorded separately.
