A former Au-Cu occurrence/mine located in the NE¼NE¼NE¼ sec. 12, T17N, R7E, MDM, 2.1 km (1.3 miles) WNW of Sweetland, along the S side of Sweetland Creek, near its confluence with the Middle Yuba River (2½ miles SW of North San Juan). Operated/owned by G. W. Broyles (1908- ). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes N and dips 85E. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 12.19 meters and comprised of an adit near the level of the Yuba River, exposing the vein.
Reported values: 2% Cu; $3 (period values) Au/ton.
