A Cr occurrence/prospect located in sec. 8, T16N, R11E, MDM, 0.8 km (0.5 mile) ESE of Negro Jack Hill (coordinates of record), along the E slope of Lowell Hill Ridge (W canyon wall of the Bear River), on National Forest land (leased from the Lowell Hill Gold Mines). Operated by William Maguire. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Rynearson page 240 places this locality in the E½SW¼ while plate 13 indicates the deposit is in the NW¼SW¼SW¼ of the section.
Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Maguire reported that he mined 2½ long tons of ore from the lease in 1918.
