A Cu occurrence/prospect located in sec. 14, T15N, R9E, MDM, 2.0 km (1.2 miles) E of Chicago Park, along the E side of Greenhorn Creek near its confluence with the Bear River. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. The unidentified shaft shown in the NE¼NW¼ sec. 14 on the topo map may be this prospect?
Mineralization is hosted in serpentinite and slate. Chalcopyrite occurs as disseminated material near a serpentine-slate contact. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
