A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 26, 27, NE¼NE¼ sec. 34 & sec. 35, T18N, R11E, MDM, about 7 km (4 miles) SSE of Graniteville, in the headwaters area of Little Baltic Creek, on private (patented) land within a National Forest area. The property is comprised of 52.16 acres. Operated prior to 1914. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. This mine has 3 locations in secs. 27, 34 & 35.
Mineralization is hosted in granite and porphyry. The ore body is a fissure deposit that strikes NNE and dips 45E. The quartz vein contains less than 1% sulfides. Part of the Eagle Bird-Yuba-Ethel-Birchville fissure system. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 4 (Klamath Mountains and Northern Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 115.21 meters and overall depth of 10.67 meters and comprised of an adit, tunnel and stopes.
