A former lode Au mine located in the SE¼NW¼ (estimated) sec. 31, T7N, R25E, MDM, 1.0 km (3,400 feet) NW of Monte Cristo and 4.3 km (2.6 miles) E of Wheeler Peak (coordinates of record) (at the Star City site [ghost town]), S of Green Creek, on National Forest land. Property consisted of 4 claims.
Mineralization is a vein/fissure system. The vein is broken up near the surface with heavy clay seams. Movement inferred to have occurred on the vein. Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 320.04 meters and an overall depth of 60.96 meters. They are comprised of tunnels, one at 750 feet long, the other at 300 feet long and a 2-compartment shaft 200 feet deep.
