A former Au mine located in the SW¼ (estimated) sec. 14, T5S, R33E, MDM, 4.0 km (2.5 miles) ESE of Chalfant, on the western margin of the White Mountains, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in schist. Then ore body strikes NE and dips NW at a thiockness of 1.22 meters. Local rocks include Cambrian marine rocks and Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 150 foot tunnel driven NE on the vein. Another tunnel was driven NE 50 feet above for 140 feet. Other short tunnels and shallow shafts were driven.
