A former lode Au mine located in the E½SE¼ (estimated) sec. 19, T5S, R34E, MDM, 4.3 km (2.6 miles) SSW of Chalfant, on National Forest land. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is hosted in limestone. The ore body has the form of a bunch or kidney instead of a vein and consists of sugary quartz, in places white, in others deeply stained with iron oxide. Local rocks include Quaternary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 2 (Long Valley Caldera) and Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Workings include underground openings with a length of 213.36 meters and an overall depth of 33.53 meters and include a 110 foot deep shaft and tunnels with crosscuts totaling 700 feet in length.
