Mineralization is being deposited at four groups of hot springs aligned over a distance of about 4,000 feet (1,300 meters). Deposition has produced 2 mm thick crusts of alternating and mixed layers of metacinnabar, cinnabar, heulandite and small amounts of quartz and magnetite. Local rocks include Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
