A Mn occurrence located in the S½NW¼ sec. 13, T13S, R9E, MDM, 2.5 km (8,200 feet) NW of Ortigalita Peak (coordinates of record), N of Ortigalita Ridge. Discovered in 1942. Owned by a Mrs Briggs, California (1974). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 250 meters.
Mineralization is comprised of manganiferous chert beds near the upper contact of a 100 foot thick chert band, surrounded by sandstone. The general strike is N60E with a gentle dip to the N. The beds are faulted and folded. The manganiferous chert has extensive surface oxidation. Local rocks include Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).
Workings include unspecified surface openings/operations.
