A former lode Au mine located in sec. 16, T4S, R18E, MDM, 2.6 km (8,700 feet) SW of Briceburg, along Saxon Creek (½ mile S of the Merced River; ¼ mile NE of the Schroeder Mine). Property consisted of 3 unpatented claims. Operator Berniece Jeffery. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with 2 veins, hosted in Late Permian metasedimentary rock of the Calaveras group. The ore body strikes N and dips steeply at a thickness of 0.61 meter. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a crosscut adit driven E, several lesser drift adits plus 4 shallow shafts.
Production information: Modest production in the 1930's.
