A Hg occurrence located in sec. 8, T3S, R16E, MDM, 2.1 km (6,700 feet) WNW of Horseshoe Bend Mountain (coordinates of record), along the Merced River (now inundated beneath Lake McClure (Exchequer Reservoir)). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Mineralization is a Hg deposit with an ore body 0.15 meter thick.

Cinnabar from here used by the Chinese for vermillion (1850-1960).
