A placer Au occurrence located in sec. 2, T6S, R18E, MDM, 3.3 km (2.0 miles) ENE of Bridgeport, along Mariposa Creek. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.

Mineralization is a gravel bar 300 feet by 35 feet on Mariposa Creek. The depth of the bar is unknown. It is underlain by granodiorite. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Gravels in bedrock crevice run 12.7 (??) per cubic yard; gravel in pit 4 feet deep tested 3.6 (??) per cubic yard (MRDS cryptic data).
