A former lode Au mine located in the center of sec. 10, T4S, R16E, MDM, 2.2 km (7,200 feet) W of Williams Peak in Hunter Valley, on private land. Property consists of 1 patented claim. Operated by Frank A. John and Joe Maschio. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. A part of the patented Maschio Ranch. This is an old property which had extensive workings and dumps prior to 1912. Operated during the periods 1912-1913, 1916, 1923-1925, and 1931. Idle since that time.
Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 60 foot inclined shaft, serving 2 levels of undetermined length.
Some very rich ore was taken out from 2 levels in 1923-1925, and a small production recorded in 1931.
