A former lode Au mine located in the SE¼ (estimated) sec. 25, T5S, R18E, MDM, 0.6 km (2,000 feet) NE of Mormon Bar and just E of the County Fair Grounds. Operated in 1933 & 1934. Operated by C. C. and L. J. Kane (1932-1934). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with a vein from inches to 4 feet thick. The ore body strikes E and dips slightly N at a thickness of 1.22 meters. The vein is accompanied by a dark granitic dike. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 97.54 meters and an overall depth of 24.38 meters and comprised of a 120 foot incline, 200 feet of drifts, 2 stopes and 1 raise.
