A former lode Au mine located in secs. 15, 16 & 22, T3S, R16E, MDM, 2.3 km (7,600 feet) SE of Horseshoe Bend Mountain (coordinates of record),and about 3.2 miles S of Coulterville, on the southern end of the mountain. The property consisted of 13 unpatented claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. NOTE: Aubury (1904) gives different T&R values.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with 4 veins between 1 and 4 feet (0.3 to 1.25 meters) wide, hosted in slate and serpentinite. The ore body strikes NW and dips 50NE at a thickness of 1.22 meters. The footwall is slate and the hanging wall is serpentine. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with a total length of 192.02 meters and an overall depth of 30.48 meters, and comprised of 1 shaft with 2 levels and 210 feet of drifts, plus another shaft at 90 feet deep and a crosscut 230 feet long.
