A former Au-Ag mine located in the SW¼ sec. 19 & in the NW¼ sec. 30, T4S, R17E, MDM, 5.0 km (3.1 miles) SSE of Williams Peak and 2.9 km (9,400 feet) WSW of Bear Valley, SW of Bagby (on top of Bear Valley Mountain), on patented and unpatented land. Discovered in 1855. The property was comprised of a patented claim of 20 acres and several unpatented claims. Active in 1882. Operated during the period 1919 to 1940. Operated by Pereno C. Zirker, et al. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. One of the claims was apparently renamed the Charles.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in Late Jurassic greenstone. The ore body strikes NW and dips NE45-60, at a thickness of 1.52 meters. The deposit is comprised of 2 sets of veins 1 to 5 feet thick. Some vein offshoots strike NE with steeper dip than the main veins. The massive and schistose greenstone was derived from pyroxene andesite. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings with a total length of 243.84 meters and an overall depth of 39.62 meters.
Workings on the Juniper claim include a 500 foot adit and stopes totaling 800 feet of workings. On the Starlight, or Patricia, claim there is a 320 foot deep vertical shaft with several hundred feet of drifts.

Production statistics: Year 1940: ^1.04 ounces Au/ton (312 grams/ metric ton).
The range of the ore graded from 14.4 ounces Au, 4.0 ounces Ag per ton to 0.35 ounces Au/ton.
