A former lode Au mine located in secs. 14 & 23, T3S, R16E, MDM, 2.2 km (7,300 feet) W of Virginia Point (coordinates of record), and 3.3 km (2.0 miles) ESE of Horseshoe Bend Mountain (coordinates of record), along Whites Gulch (3½ miles SSE of Coulterville; on the W slope of Whites Gulch, ¼ mile E of the Adelaide Mine). Operated in 1938. Operated by J. K. Wadley (1938). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein/pocket deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes N and dips 70E. This vein is a branch of the Mother Lode system. The main vein is well-defined and is cut by numerous NW-trending stringers. High-grade ore pockets at the vein-stringer intersections. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include unspecified underground openings.
Production data are found in: Bowen, O.E., Jr. & C.H. Gray, Jr. (1957).
The amount produced from pockets prior to 1938 has not been recorded.
