A former lode Au mine located in sec. 27, T4S, R18E, MDM, 0.3 km (800 feet) SSW of Colorado (5 miles N of Mariposa). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. The ore body is 1.52 meters thick. This mine is on an extension of the Colorado vein, averaging 18 inches (45 cm) in thickness, and varies from 1 foot (0.3 meter) to 5 feet (1.61 meters). Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of 3 open cuts and a 60 foot crosscut adit.
Samples taken from the open cuts assayed at $4.50 to $7.00 (period values) of Au/ton.
