A former lode Au mine located in sec. 2, T4S, R19E, MDM, 2.3 km (7,500 feet) WNW of Darrah, along the crest of Buckingham Mountain (6½ miles NE of Mariposa). Operated during the period 1927-1940. Operated by Russell G. Fournier. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.

Mineralization is a vein deposit with a vein 18 inches (45 cm) to 2 feet (0.6 meter) thick, hosted in slate. The ore body strikes E and dips nearly vertical at a thickness of 0.61 meter. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings comprised of 3 adits, the lowest of which is 150 feet below the highest, and extends 410 feet. The second adit is 100 feet below the top adit and extends for 300 feet. The top adit extends 30 feet.

Production data are found in: Bowen, O.E., Jr. & C.H. Gray, Jr. (1957).

This mine produced several hundred tons of ore between 1927 and 1940 that averaged 0.845 ounces of Au and 0.32 ounces of Ag per ton.

Samples average 1.26 ounces Au per ton. There is a rich streak in the center of the vein.
