A former lode Au mine located in sec. 11, T4S, R17E, MDM, about 4 miles NW of Whitlock, along the Merced River (4 miles NE of Bear Valley), on private (patented) land in Bureau of Land Management-administered wilderness area (Merced River Wilderness Study Area). Operated by J. V. Lloyd. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in Late Permian slate and schist. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings.
