A former lode Au-Pb-Ag mine located in sec. 36, T3S, R19E, MDM, 1.9 km (6,200 feet) SE of Hite Cove, N of Casa Diablo (summit) (3½ miles SW of El Portal), on National Forest land. Operated by T. A. Clarke. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. Formerly part of the Little Wonder group of mines.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with 2 roughly parallel veins, hosted in slate and diorite. The ore body is pinch & swell in form, strikes NW and dips steeply NE. The footwall is diorite and the hanging wall is slate. Rich but small ore shoots. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include surface and underground openings, which, in 1920, were comprised of a 90 foot tunnel, several caved tunnels and surface workings.
