A former lode Au mine located in sec. 1, T6S, R16E, MDM, 5.3 km (3.3 miles) W of Wildcat Mountain (Catheys Valley), along Bear Creek, on private (patented) land. Property is comprised of a patented claim. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit, hosted in slate and schist. The vein is 5 feet thick. The hanging wall is slate and the footwall is schist. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 60.96 meters and comprised of a 200 foot deep shaft, a 40 foot winze, a 100 foot adit, and 200 feet of drifts.
