A Cu-Au occurrence/prospect located in the NE¼ sec. 31, T3S, R16E, MDM, 1.5 km (5,000 feet) SW of Hunter Valley Mountain (coordinates of record) (on SW slope of the mountain; close to the Last Chance Mine), and about 4.8 miles SSE of Granite Springs. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
The best copper ore occurs in the oxidized zone. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with a total length of 10.67 meters and an overall depth of 6.1 meters, and comprised of 2 shallow shafts 15 and 20 feet deep in 1902.
