A former lode Au mine located in secs. 15, 16 & 22, T3S, R16E, MDM, about 3.2 miles SSW of Coulterville, on the SW slope of Horseshoe Bend Mountain. Operated by Ralph E. and Libby N. Dailey (?). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. This locality may now be inundated under Lake McClure (Exchequer Reservoir).
Mineralization is a vein deposit. 2 veins intersect at right angles. The Cabinet vein strikes NW and dips steeply E. The Crystal vein, which intersects it at approximate right angles, is reported to contain cinnabar as well as gold. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
