A Cu occurrence/prospect/mine located in the SE¼ (estimated) sec. 30 (possibly also in sec. 23), T3S, R15E, MDM, 4.4 km (2.7 miles) SSE of Granite Springs, along the shore of Lake McClure (Exchequer Reservoir). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. Locality may now be inundated beneath the lake.
NOTE: MRDS file #10030816 presents geographic coordinates of 37°38'17N, 120°21'24"W. These coordinates are in error and place this mine substantially to the W of its actual location. MRDS file #10163691 presents coordinates which place this locality exactly on the adit symbol for the named mine on the topo map. The latter coordinates are presented in this Mindat file.
Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface andf underground openings comprised of an adit. Workings in 1902 were comprised of several shafts, cuts and tunnels.
