A former lode Au-Ag mine located in sec. 25, T4S, R16E, MDM, 4.6 km (2.9 miles) S of Williams Peak (coordinates of record) and 4.0 km (2.5 miles) WSW of Bear Valley, in the headwaters area of Burns Creek (5½ miles N of Mariposa). Property consisted of an unpatented claim. Operated by R. W. Davis. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
NOTE: MRDS database file #10030914 states that this locality is within the Colorado District. Both the coordinates provided by the MRDS files and the T&R values presented place this locality near Bear Valley, as presented in this file, and not in the Colorado District.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit with ore shoots, hosted in slate and metavolcanic rock. The ore body is pinch and swell in form, strikes N73E and dips steeply NE at a thickness of 2.13 meters. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include unspecified underground openings.
