A former lode Au mine located in sec. 9, T4S, R20E, MDM, 3.1 km (1.9 miles) ESE of Peachtree Bar and 9.1 km (5.7 miles) ESE of Hite Cove, along the South Fork Merced River at Granite Creek (about 4 miles E of Jerseydale by trail), between river miles 12 & 13, on National Forest land. The property consisted of 3 unpatented claims. Operated by Hiram Branson (?). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with a vein averaging 5 feet in thickness, hosted in slate, granite and porphyry. The ore body is tabular, strikes NW and dips 72NE. The footwall is porphyry and the hanging wall is slate and granite. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 145 foot crosscut tunnel and 80 feet of drifts.
