A former lode Au-Cu-Fe mine located in the SE¼ sec. 30 & in the NE¼ sec. 31, T4S, R18E, MDM, SW of the Nutmeg Mine on the N end of Whitlock Gulch, about 4 miles NNE of Mount Bullion, on unpatented land. Located in 1912. The property consisted of 1 unpatented claim in 1927, or several claims lying between the Geary and Nutmeg Mines (1927). Operated by George K. Allen (1927). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Alternate coordinates provided: 37°33'34"N, 120°02'05"W.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit hosted in porphyry and/or greenstone. The ore body strikes N20W and dips 70NE at a thickness of 0.56 meters. The deposit consists of several cutter veins. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall depth of 9.14 meters and comprised of a short drift and shaft. Little development. The main shaft is vertical with a line of stopes extending N of the shaft for several hundred feet, plus open cuts. Workings mostly caved.
