A former lode Au mine located in the E½ (estimated) sec. 27, T4S, R18E, MDM, 0.3 km (1,000 feet) W of Colorado (approximately 6 miles N of Mariposa). Operated by G. E. Dunbar (1914). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
NOTE: MRDS file note: "Mine not identifiable from available description. Probably one of the mines later gathered together under the name of the Mountain Belle group."
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit with a vein averaging 2½ feet thick, hosted in slate. The deposit is a quartz vein in a porphyry dike cutting slate. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 50 foot and a 75 foot deep shafts, now both caved.
