A former placer and lode Au mine located in sec. 36, T3S, R17E, MDM, 0.5 km (1,600 feet) N of Quartz Mountain (1) (on the N slope of the mountain) and 4.3 km (2.6 miles) ESE of Cat Town, on Bureau of Land Management wilderness land (Merced River Wilderness Study Area). Property consisted of unpatented claims. Operated by Edward M. Roller. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. The Sunset F. was a placer claim, the others are lode claims.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit as well as a placer deposit. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include unspecified surface and underground openings.
