A former lode Au mine located in sec. 29, T3S, R19E, MDM (UTM estimated), 3.1 km (1.9 miles) WNW of Hite Cove (6 miles W of El Portal), on National Forest land. Property consisted of an unpatented claims. Operated by William H. Rykert and Anna Bingham. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
NOTE: There is a separate MRDS file (#10115000) for the Liberty Lode property, which is stated to be in sec. 10, T4S, R19E, MDM, and apparently not contiguous with the Albany Lode. That property is a Mn occurrence and is treated separately in Mindat.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
