A Au prospect located in the SW¼ sec. 17, T2N, R7W, MDM, 0.4 km (0.2 mile; 1,200 feet) ENE of San Geronimo. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
The shaft was sunk in silica-carbonate rocks. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan melange.
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 200 foot deep shaft sunk in the 1870's and that has been filled in as a safety precaution. It is located 200 yards N of the Sir Francis Drake highway and 0.3 mile W of San Geranimo-Nicasio Road.
It was reported that the ore averaged $30 to $40 (period values) Au/ton and in addition contained Ag, Fe, Mn, Sb and traces of Ni.
There is no record of production.
