A former lode Au mine located in the E½NW¼NE¼ sec. 15, T7S, R20E, MDM, 0.5 km (1,600 feet) W of Indian Hill (coordinates of record) and 5.7 km (3.5 miles) SW of Ahwahnee, near or on Grub Gulch (topo map reflects it as being N of Grub Gulch on the other side of a divide). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with a 3 to 18 inch thick vein and accompanying narrow dike, hosted in purported E-dipping, magnesian schists. The ore body dips W at a thickness of 0.46 meter. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 200 foot tunnel, surface cuts, a crosscut tunnel, which intersects the vein 50 feet below surface, drifts and a 20 foot deep winze.
