A former lode Au mine located in the E½SW¼ (estimated) sec. 33, T8S, R21E, MDM, 0.6 km (1,800 feet) SSE of Quartz Mountain (1) and 8.6 km (5.3 miles) S of Coarsegold, and about 1,200 feet SSE of Quartz Mountain (on the slopes of the mountain) (unpatented land). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. This locality is uncertain. Location estimated from topo map. Reported to be 3 miles NE of Kelshaw Corners on Quartz Mountain.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with a 2 foot thick vein. The ore body is 0.61 meter thick. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 30 foot deep shaft.
