A former lode Au mine located in sec. 29 & in the E½ (estimated) sec. 30, T7S, R21E, MDM, 3.7 km (2.3 miles) SW of Deadwood Peak (coordinates of record, on the SE terminus of Buckeye Mountain, and 3.4 km (2.1 miles) NNW of Coarsegold, along Deadwood Gulch (mine reported in Swede Gulch [apparently an unnamed feature on the topo map]). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with a 1 foot (0.3 meter) wide vein. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of an open cut and shaft.
