A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 34, T16N, R8E, MDM, about 1.5 km SSW of Grass Valley proper, on private (patented) land. The property comprises 2.791 acres or 17.17 acres (2 MRDS files). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granodiorite. The ore body strikes E of N and dips 25-50W at a thickness of 0.76 meter. The vein is 3 inches (7.5 cm) to 2.5 (76 cm) feet thick and carries up to 6% sulfides. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 609.6 meters and an overall depth of 182.88 meters and comprised of an incline and drifts.
