A Au occurrence/mine located in the SW¼SW¼ sec. 24 & in sec. 25, T29N, R11E, MDM, 4.4 km (2.8 miles) N of Diamond Mountain (coordinates of record), E of Gold Run Creek. The property consists of the larger part of one claim, the Dorothy Virginia, and 2 full claims, the Blue Bell and Blue Bell No. 1. Operated by M. L. Harris and C. L. Musgrove. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Locality includes the Blue Bell, located in the NW¼NW¼ sec. 25.
The principal vein is the Boyd, striking through the center of the Blue Bell claim. It is a prominent zone of limonite-stained, fractured, vuggy quartz with silicified wallrock and wallrock breccia. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface and underground workings comprised of several old tunnels, cross-cuts, shafts, and an open cut. More recently a 40 foot deep vertical shaft was sunk.
Little can be found out regarding past mineral production. Two surface cuts exposed 4 to 10 feet of quartz and leached material heavily stained by iron and manganese oxides. This mixture is said to have assayed $4 to $8 (period values) per ton Au.
