A placer Au occurrence located in the NW¼NE¼ sec. 30, T29N, R12E, MDM, 4.7 km (2.9 miles) NNE of Diamond Mountain (coordinates of record), along Gold Run Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

The recent deposits of placer gold were derived from an old stream channel that existed at or near present ridge summit, E of Hill Creek. Geologic conditions here are less favorable for development of lode gold deposits. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Little lode mining was done on this property except that several surface pits have been sunk on supposed vein matter.

Production in the past was confined to placer mining.
