A Cr occurrence located in sec. 4 (also secs. 10, 11, 12 & 16), T12N, R6W, MDM, 7.4 km (4.6 miles) E of Lower Lake (ppl), on designated wilderness land (Rocky Creek/Cache Creek Wilderness Study Area). NOTE: MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 1,000 meters. Original record had no coordinates, so this was plotted to the middle of the state/county area per MRDS.
Mineralization is associated with Jurassic marine rocks, unit 2 (Coast Ranges) and/or rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges). NOTE: The 2 MRDS files provide seemingly conflicting data regarding the associated rocks.
