Located near Tyrone.
For many years, a mineral dealer in Casa Grande, Arizona, USA collected specimens from this locality and labeled them as coming from Catron Co., New Mexico, USA. Almost all of the specimens from this deposit are red rose colored/pink/red in color and are of octahedral habit. Most were covered with drusy quartz which has been etched away by hydrofluoric acid and put out in the bright sunlight to brighten the color to a nice rosy pink color. Thousands of specimens have been produced by this locality over the years.
The present claim owner (2015) is Ray Demark (John Bett info).
